  14. Let me explain.

  16. I want to connect a modem to a device that has a receive only serial
  17. port that is listening at a fixed rate (can be jumper set to 9600,
  18. 14400, or 28800).  Are there any modems available that I can fix the
  19. serial port rate (to match the device) via jumpers or dip switches?
  20.  
  21. I've tried talking to the device with a USR sportster v.34 and can't get
  22. it to work; I presume because it can't communicate with the serial port
  23. it's atttached to to negotiate a baud rate.

  25. Any help or pointers would be appreciated.
